A major in Physics prepares NCCU students for advanced degrees in physics or related fields, for employment in government or industry or for licensure to teach at the secondary school level.

The Department of Physics offers programs of study leading to a B.S. degree in Physics, a B.S. degree in Physics with teacher certification; dual degree programs in Physics and Engineering with Duke University and Georgia Institute of Technology; and a two-year Pre-Engineering program. Students in the B.S. degree program have the opportunity to select from the following concentrations: applied physics or computational physics.
