Electron Gun

The electron gun in our lab is a compact relativistic electron beam source. It generate high peak power and ultra short (picosecend) pulse of relativistic electron beam. The main parameters are

Beam Energy ~1.2 MeV

RF Driving Frequency 2.853 GHz

Macropulse Beam Current 200 mA

Micropulse Beam Current 20 A

Macropulse Duration up to 5 ms

Micropulse Duration 0.5- 5 ps

Beam Emittance ~3.5p mm rad

This electron gun can be used to generate unique far infrared radiation with 0.1cm-1 space resolution and picosecond time resolution. It can be also used in produce quantum dots, plasma diagnostic, and surface modification.
