DURHAM, N.C. - The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce in partnership with North Carolina Central University will host a pep rally for the Durham community to commemorate NCCU's transition to NCAA Division I athletics. The community event will be held Thursday, Sept. 20, at CCB Plaza in downtown Durham. 

Festivities include performances by the NCCU Sound Machine Marching Band, the NCCU Cheerleaders, and remarks from Mayor Bill Bell, NCCU Chancellor Charlie Nelms, NCCU Athletics Director Bill Hayes and Duke University Athletics Director Joe Alleva. 

The entire community is invited to attend and encouraged to wear maroon and gray.
