NCCU VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS HAMPTON IN FINALS, WIN WSSU TOURNAMENT

WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Led by Anielle DaSilva’s match-high 17 kills, the North Carolina Central University Eagles women’s volleyball team capped their fourth consecutive win with the tournament championship of the 2007 WSSU Lady Rams Volleyball Invitational on Saturday evening as they swept the Hampton University Lady Pirates by the score of 3-0 (30-16, 30-19, 30-21).

Tournament M.V.P. Anielle DaSilva turned in a stellar .652 attack percentage as she led the Eagles to the tournament title.  Joining DaSilva with All-tournament honors was outside hitter Shari Matthews who recorded seven kills in the win.

Hampton was led by All-Tournament Team performer Ebonie Vincent who recorded a team-high 12 kills in the losing effort.
