North Carolina Central UniversityCROSS COUNTRYThe Official Web Site of the North Carolina Central University "Eagle" Athletics Department(Oct. 6, 2007) LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL - The North Carolina Central University women's cross country team earned a 20th-place team finish and the men's cross country team earned a 16th-place team finish, at the 2007 Disney Men's and Women's Cross Country Classic at the Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, FL early Saturday morning. The Lady Eagles best finish was Desinia Johnson as she recorded a time of 19:56.58 en route to completing the 5k course in 75th place. Following Johnson was Ashia Brown who finished in a 138th-place finish with a time of 20:49.45 Rounding out the NCCU finishers were Ashley Cook who finished 151st (22:45.30), Latanya Lasane who finished 178th (23:50.54), Adrenee Sterrett place 180th (21:33.19), Lakisha Gantt finished 226th (22:20.97), and Kelli Dunstan, who completed the course 259th (23:07.82) (24:56.65) The Lady Eagles recorded a 20th place finish as a team with a combined score of 627. NCCU average finish time was 20:58. The Eagles best finisher was James Kukat as he recorded a time of 27:21 en route to completing the 8k course in 65th place. Following Kukat was Brandon Jones who finished in a 74thplace finish with a time of 27:36. Rounding out the NCCU finishers was Rashad Lee who finished 93rd place (27:56), Gearld Jones who finished 124th (28:32), Robert Currington who finished in 196thplace (30:19), Adam Coefield finished in 217th place (30:59) and Michael Edwards who finished with a time of 33:39 to finish 269th. The Eagles recorded a 16th place finish as a team with a combined score of 512 with an average time of 28:21. NCCU will return to the course on October 13, 2007 to compete in the Cross Country Invitational at Forest Hills Park in Durham, NC hosted by the Eagles.
