Kevin C. Foy - Assistant Professor

Kevin C. Foy was born and raised in Mentor, Ohio. He attended the University of Hawaii and Kenyon College; receiving his Bachelor of Arts in history, with honors, from Kenyon College. He earned his Juris Doctorate degree magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University School of Law. He joined the faculty of NCCU School of Law in 2001 as an Assistant Professor.
Professor Foy teaches courses in Environmental Law, Legal Writing, Remedies, Law Practice Management, Business Association and Torts.
Activities at the Law School include Advisor, Environmental Law Society; Budget Committee; Curriculum Committee; Facilities Committee and Faculty Senate. His other professional memberships and community service activities include: Delegate, NC State Bar Ethics Committee; NC Bar Association; Chair, NC Metropolitan Coalition
Prior to joining the faculty at NCCU Law, he was employed with the Ohio State Senate, Oahu Foods, and the Town of Chapel Hill, NC. Also, he was the former editor of an environmental history journal published by Duke University Press, Forest & Conservation History Society.
Professor Foy has experience as a practicing attorney at the firm of Foy & Lavelle, Attorneys at Law. Currently, he is in his third term as the Mayor of the Town of Chapel Hill.
