Jeffrey R. Edwards - Clinical Supervising Attorney, Criminal Litigation Clinic,

Professor Edwards is a native of Charlotte, NC. He received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 1990, majoring in history with a minor in political science. He received his J.D. from the Campbell University School of Law in 1994. While in law school he received the A.C. and Ailene Greene Law Scholarship, was named to the academic honors list, and served as a staff member on the Campbell Law Review.
After graduation, he clerked for the Hon. Linda M. McGee at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. He then accepted an appointment as Assistant Attorney General with the North Carolina Department of Justice. During his nine years with the Attorney General’s Office, he represented the State of North Carolina in cases at all levels of the state and federal trial and appellate courts. His clients included the Division of Motor Vehicles and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. He advised public officials, judges, prosecutors, attorneys, and the public regarding motor vehicle law issues and represented the State in numerous criminal appellate cases. He has also served as a temporary clerk for the Hon. Patricia Timmons-Goodson at the North Carolina Supreme Court.
Professor Edwards teaches Criminal Litigation and Appellate Advocacy. Prior to joining the faculty full-time in the fall of 2007, he served as an adjunct professor at the NCCU School of Law teaching the writing portion of the North Carolina Distinctions class.
In his spare time he enjoys reading, exercising, following his favorite sports teams, and, most importantly, spending quality time with his family.
