Professor Williams teaches Legal Reasoning & Analysis, Legal Research & Persuasion and Legal Letters.
Professor Williams began at the law school as an adjunct legal writing professor in 2006. She received her B.A. in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997 and her J.D. from UNC School of Law in 2000. She recently received her LLM in Law and Government in 2009. After law school, Professor Williams clerked at the NC Supreme Court with Former Chief Justice Henry E. Frye. In 2001, she clerked for Judge Albert S. Thomas at the NC Court of Appeals. She also clerked for Judges Sanford Steelman and Linda Stephens. Professor Williams also worked as Special Deputy Commissioner at the NC Industrial Commission and as GAL Appellate Counsel at the NC Administrative Office of the Courts. She was in private practice specializing in workers’ compensation. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the NC Bar Association.
Professor Williams’ community service activities include membership at St. Paul AME Church, and the Durham Chapter of Girlfriends, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys scrapbooking, reading novels and yoga.
